One of the most exciting things about the 2021 Hot Rod Power tour was getting there . . . and back again!
It was love at first sight . . . sort of. I saw it and had to have it. This is the first entry of The Green Machine Diaries.
I went looking for a Wildcat and found a rocket instead. I saw all of these rides within a few miles of our home.
We landed in Indianapolis on day five, parking it at Lucas Oil Speedway. Here’s a little red, white, and blue from America’s second-most famous motor town.
Dials and needles, knobs and buttons, gauges and levers; it’s a part of automotive instrumentation. Especially in older rides this is where function and artistry meet.
The road to Bristol was wild, wet, and gorgeous. Damp conditions at the Speedway had me searching the parking lot for a few favorites.
Patina. The best paint shops can’t compete with the beauty laid down by the brush of time.
The Hot Rod Power Tour never fails to bring out a little automotive variety
I went on a Cadillac safari at the 2016 Turkey Run. While a few of the Caddys had lost their shine, none lost their stature.
The last day of the HRPT16 turned out to be full of surprises and a lot of fun.
Day 6 of the Tour was OKC to Wichita. It was friendly people and lots of trucks.
Day 4 of the Hot Rod Power Tour -- Austin to Grand Prairie, Texas in full color.
The caravan rolled to Austin with some great sights and stops along the way.
It's just day one, but already the Hot Rod Power Tour feels like a rocket ship to the moon.
