5 Things We Love About The Power Tour

It is Day 2 of the 2014 Hot Rod Power Tour. Today 3,000 hot rodders motored from Concord, NC to Knoxville, TN. Caravans of hot rods twisted through hairpin turns, hit the gas on the open roads, and took it slow through the small towns. We cruised past Ruth, grabbed coffee in Holly Springs, and passed through Bat Cave, NC (no Robin sightings).

Shannan and I spent the better part of the afternoon determining five cars each of us would like to own. More on that later. Today, I wanted to highlight five things we love about the Power Tour (that are not about cars):

1. Two-lane black top carving a path through beautiful countryside.

2. Eating local fare . . .

3. History lessons along the highway . . .

4. The interesting people we meet. So far we have reconnected with friends Mike & Linda from Illinois and met Toni & Doug from Minnesota, as well as Bonnie & Frank from Maryland. The Hot Rod Power Tour is a reminder that everyone has a story!
